Requirements for the Octoshape plug-in (Windows)
Technical requirements
The following requirements apply to the standard version of the Octoshape plug-in
(i.e. the Windows Version).
Requirements for the Mac OS X and Linux (BETA) versions are listed on their respective download pages:

Operating system
The Octoshape plug-in runs on all versions of Windows that is actively supported by Microsoft:
- Windows Vista
- Windows XP
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows 2000
Octoshape may or may not work correctly on earlier versions of Windows.
Browsers
Supported browsers:
- Internet Explorer
- Mozilla Firefox
- Mozilla
However any browser that supports MS ActiveX or
Mozilla plugins (and/or supports launching external applications) should work,
but may require manual setup from the user.
Media players
The media player needed will vary, depending on the codec used by the broadcaster.
The media players below will work with the Octoshape plug-in:
- Windows Media Player 6.4 or later
- WinAmp
- RealPlayer
- VLC
- Apple iTunes (audio only)
Basically any HTTP streaming enabled player will work with the Octoshape plug-in,
provided it supports the codec required to play the desired stream.
